Turbo
R rear hubs
I choose to change my hubs against the Turbo R version.
They feature a splined shaft instead of a wedge mated shaft which is
known to refuse to transfer power at times.
In the case of a bearing failure, the Turbo R hubs are also much easier
to service.
Unfortunatley, the driveshafts as well as the 2 flanges and stub shafts
at the differential also need to be changed for Turbo R parts
Parts list:
2 Turbo R hubs
2 Turbo R driveshafts
2 Turbo R flanges and
stub shafts for the differential
24 bolts for the
driveshaft
1) Remove driveshafts
2) Remove brake
calipers
3) Remove hubs
4) Carefully remove
the flanges from the differential
5) Change the
bearings and spacers from your old flanges and stub shaft assembly to
the Turbo R version. Sturdy circlip pliers are needed to do so.
6) Reinstall the
flanges paying attention to their orientation (oil feed holes)
7) Install Turbo R
hubs, leave the bolts loose so that the hubs can still be wiggled
8) Install the
calipers and brake lines
9) Now tighten the
bolts that hold the hub to the suspension arm
10) Install
driveshafts
11) Fill up
differential fluid, bleed the brakes, adjust the parking brake
